We’re sure you have questions about the company RK International, its products, services and areas of distribution. RKI is a joint venture between Resinall Corporation and the Kustom Group, two companies recognized as industry leaders in their respective areas.
Resinall is a major manufacturer of resins and resin solutions, mainly for the publication lithographic and gravure ink industries. The Kustom Group is a specialty supplier of high performance oil-based and UV/EB vehicles for use in the manufacture of overprints and inks. The Kustom Group also offers oil-based, water-based and UV/EB finished overprints and coatings.
The purpose of RK International is to service a segment of the lithographic market, which largely fell between the two companies. For Resinall, this occurred when presented with business opportunities which required highly formulated vehicles, often requiring special process equipment of relatively small volume.
For Kustom Group, within North America, business opportunities where often lost where high volume and more commodity type pricing were required. Outside North America, especially within Europe, opportunities were lost due to an inability to supply the high level of technical service and rapid product distribution required of the market.
The goal of RK International is to provide products and services in both North America and Europe. To achieve this goal, RKI will use the resources and capabilities of both Kustom Group and Resinall Corporation.
In the USA (North America), RKI will manufacture its products at the Resinall plant in Severn, NC where it will operate an in-plant vehicle operation. This will allow direct access to bulk resins, solvents, oils, and other raw materials used in vehicle production. Kustom Group will provide RKI with needed sales, marketing, distribution and technical support for its North American business.
In Europe, RKI will use Resinall Europe bvba in Brugge, Belgium to sell, manufacture and service its products. In addition to RKI products, Resinall Europe will distribute specialty products of Kustom Group including specialty oleoresinous, aqueous, and energy curable products.
